Cool New Planes
By Rick Hollander
Cirrus Design is the culminated vision of two brothers who shared a passion for airplanes and who changed the general aviation industry by introducing innovations in technology and safety. What started as an idea for a kit-built airplane has developed into a world-class company with the best-selling private airplane in the world. By developing and certifying such innovations as the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System, glass cockpit, composite fabrication, and flight into known ice, Cirrus has become the industry leader.
This class will look at where cutting edge aviation has been and explore where it is going, including Cirrus’ next game-changing idea: the Vision Jet, a single engine personal jet that promises to disrupt the industry for the better.
