Last fall, the Duluth Library Foundation held our 6th annual fundraising event, “Learning & Libations at the Library.” One of our eight TED talk-style speakers was international best-selling author Brian Freeman. That night, he gave us the very generous gift of allowing us to auction off the name of one of the characters in his upcoming book, Alter Ego, as an additional fundraising element.
After a series of bids, the bidding came down to a back-and-forth between two people. In the end, the woman outbid the man, and a character will be named after her. But after the auction concluded, the man approached Brian and asked if, for the cost of his highest bid, the male character could be named after him. Brian agreed.
Now the book has been written and Lori Fulkerson and Dean Casperson’s fates are in the pages. Alter Ego will hit bookshelves on May 1st but Duluth gets one more treat from Freeman; on April 30th he will be at Glensheen for an exclusive, pre-publication party where he will reveal the identities Fulkerson and Casperson. Lori and Dean will not only hear who they are, but also sign books along with Freeman! Signatures of the author and two characters can only be captured that evening!
Join us to see Lori and Dean’s reactions as they hear Freeman reveal their identities at Glensheen on April 30th, 2018. Dine on delectable appetizers, wine, local beer and enjoy a Q & A with the author. Receive a receive a crisp copy of Alter Ego for the book signing with your ticket purchase!
